Audio files keep resetting playback
I know, confusing thread title, difficult to describe what's happening with my 2017 E300 with standard Burmester audio system, but here goes: I have music files on usb in both console slots and have always been able to select music by album title, turn the engine off overnight and return to the exact place last played upon restarting the system. Until the past couple of days, now every time I get back in the car, restart the engine, the audio files revert by track, alphabetically, to track number one. Any idea what the hell is going on?

Two USBs, each behaves the same, separately as well as together. Thanks for the suggestion, tho!

not exactly the same problem, but my system only partially reads the playlists on my usb stick (used to work fine)
somehow something seems to goes wrong when it accesses the stick..

Are you set on using the USB? I've had better luck using my iPhone. The phone keeps track of what's playing and where you left off. The phone can connect via bluetooth, and I find it a little easier, if you are regularly updating the songs that are copied to the device.
I have not tried a straight USB drive, but I did try an old iPod classic, and it had similar issues to what you described.
Also, I can use voice commands to select music when it's stored on the phone, and that didn't work with the iPod.

Does your car also have an SD-slot (in the center storage compartment on newer E's)? It works well, and does start where I left off.
