Before buying E43 2018

Hi guys!
I fell in love few months ago with the E-class and I thought to try to enjoy from the 2 worlds of luxury and sporty without to bankrupt (E63) so I chose to go with the E43 AMG 2018(Limo).
My question, it’s really sporty car? I really can go to the ring and enjoy it?

What has your research told you about this car? It’s not as fast as the E63, you are aware of this, correct? How fast do you want to go?

is a video of c4004matic keeping up with the Vettes at Road America in his stock, new 2017 E43. He tracks his car regularly. There are many posts in this forum by c4004matic regarding the E43.

Great video:

Does anyone know if the Corvette is being pushed anywhere near its limit?

I was going to reply that they all looked like they were going for Sunday drives; the MB wasn't taking decent apex lines, for example. But later in the video, they did speed up a bit more. Still, didn't look that fast to me. Not to say the AMG is a slouch, by any means.

I didn’t made a big research about the car, I just really like the E-Class and to get it with AMG version can be cool.
I’m not thinking about breaking new records but to enjoy with comfortable car for long driving between countries and enjoy the car in track can be nice mix.
But the question it really is?

2018 E43 AMG
I bought a 2018 E43 a few months ago. Absolutely love the car. For me it's the perfect balance of sportiness, luxury and tech. It's a joy to drive and it doesn't feel like a slouch when pushed. I also find the tech gratifyingly impressive, especially with the P3 pkg. Hopefully this helps.

How is the steering wheel feel and ride quality? Just wondering if you think its too sporty or comfortable etc

Both are really subjective, and context is everything. But I’m happy with mine despite a steady diet of older BMWs and late model Porsches. It’s a really nicely balanced car—a bruiser when you want to push it, and a luxobarge when you’re feeling relaxed.

I'll be honest, it's just "OK" for me. I would not get another one. I wanted a C63 and ran across a leftover 2018 E43 for the same price after a $17k discount and talked myself into it. My last few cars were V8's including an SRT Challenger and a CLK 550 Benz, so this is a step down in power and much less "fun" for me. If you are coming from a 4cyl Toyota or HyundaI, I'm sure this feels like a big step up, but for me the power was a step back.
It handles good, but the ride is abysmal with the 20 inch wheels and run flat tires, it gets marginally better with non-run flat tires (after dropping ~$1500), but not that much. It's laughable that MBZ released a $90k car with a ride like this, hopefully your car has the base 19" wheels. Like I said - the power and acceleration (for me) is disappointing, its really a 6cyl turbo car and you feel it all the time. If you leave it in comfort mode (the default) you are always waiting for it to get up to boil, sport mode is not much different and sport + is too high strung for daily driving. In Sport + it goes OK, but you cant drive like that every day. There is a guy in my neighborhood with a '19 CLS 450 and we go for some straight line runs when no one is around. We are usually dead even and infrequently I can pull by a hood length or less, so I really doubt the HP rating of the car...The steering is needlessly heavy even in comfort and the exhaust note is lacking for an AMG car.
Some of the tech is glitchy. Quite a few times the live traffic never boots up and I have to break out my phone before I get on the freeway. The app-based remote start has about a 50/50 chance of actually starting the car. I came from a Dodge that always had functioning tech and the remote start button on a keyfob that was flawless, so these are more disappointments for me and take away from the car's intrinsic/fun value - in my opinion.
I live in So Cal and take the Canyons to work (Mulholland, Stunt, Old Topanga) [back when we were working] and its pretty nimble on the back roads but I betcha a 450 with the sport package is the same. I have tons of track time - everything from Laguna Seca to Buttonwillow and the car does not handle good enough for as bad as it rides. I understand why the car gets dissed - because its a tarted up 450 and thats about it. However the car is gorgeous, mine is silver with the black leather/alcantara with red stitching on the inside. The full screen dash is nice and I'm getting about 20mpg in all city driving over the last year.
It depends on what you want. YOU said "63" and the 43 aint that.
Im glad mine is a Lease so I can walk away, its less that halfway through my term and I find myself perusing Auto Traders thinking about the 43 replacement, and that is unusual for me and more than 18months out from now, most of my cars are 4+ year love affairs.

Your mileage may vary.

Steering in comfort, does have a heavy feel to it. I prefer the heavy feel and switching between comfort and sport, I really don't feel too much of a difference in feeling. It's a heavy car, but even with spirited driving, the car feels very nimble. As far as performance, it's just what I wanted. I also have 2 sportbikes in the stable, so I'm very content with the E43. Haven't been in a scenario where I felt the car could use more power.

Mine has the P3 package, haven't noticed any tech glitches or anomalies. Shortly after taking delivery, Mine has a new base firmware. It's possible Frank is running an older version, I just haven't had his experiences. I also use the Mbrace app, car starts every time.

Mine is the color combo I wanted. Iridium Silver, w/ black alcantara with red stitching interior and black ash wood interior. Plan on keeping this car for a while. Definitely happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

The best or nothing
The E43 is a nice car. It is as fast as an old 2000 E55 AMG and about the same as the current E400d. The ride is harder (harsher) for no obvious reason and also more noisy inside - compared to the W210 E55, one has to ask, why have they been able to make the same car comfortable & fast at the same time while 20 years later they make it only fast. Overall, it is OK.

Wheel and tire combinations today are far harsher in my view, compared with 5-10 years ago. Low profile tires, runflat aka "extended mobility" tires and large wheels all mean harsher ride. It's a big step backwards in my view.

i use this place for basic OEM parts,

Good prices on most items, OEM and they ship from Portland Oregon which means no taxes.
