Foul Odor When Utilizing AC

As the temps here in TX where I reside have began to reach the mids 80s, I have began to run my AC. What i have taken notice to is the foul odor that comes from the vents when the AC is on.

My filters are not due for change-out as I recently had that completed. I called the dealer and they advised me to run the AC for 2+ mins after I reach home to remedy the odor. I haven't done that as I do not believe it will completely remedy the smell. Not to mention this is the third MB that I have owned and all of them have possessed this identical odor.

Anyone in the forum have this identical issue and can share info please do.

The odor comes from mold/mildew the builds up from moisture in the ducts. As part of my routine interior cleaning I spray the a/c intake duct with Lysol disinfectant spray. I'm in Florida and the a/c runs 11 months of the year.

Where actually is the AC intake duct? I'd like to try that to see if it remedies the odor.

On my '18 E300 it is on the right rear side of the engine compartment under a shroud. The easiest way to tell is to turn the fan on high and follow the sound. You can also spray into the ventilation outlets with the fan turned off.
