W213 Smart key unlocks but not detected for crank
Hi all. So I own a late 2016 W213 E220d. Started getting messages through my phone about the low charge state of my cars main battery because of the lock down and unable to drive. Did my best to start it and run it to help regenerate charge in the battery but it finally died, not a single light anywhere would turn on.
So i order a replacement , like for like Varta AGM with the Mercedes logo and installed it with a friend. Considering old one was dead I didnt think it necessary to hook up an aux 12v to the system to save memmory state, nor did i have one laying around to be honest.
Now the problem. Both smart keys unlock and lock the car and ooen the boot perfectly fine. When i go to try and start the car however, i keep getting a key not detected text on my cluster. Placed each of the keys individually in the little marked spot in the center console but it still didnt detect it.
womdering if anyone on here could give me some insight on how to fix this problem ?
Going to a dealership, im not trying to avoid that, i just cant get a tow to get me there because of the lockdown in Italy. So anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks
