2015 E400 Sedan
Wagons are just cool looking today... heck even the Buick wagon is kinda neat...
The JAG estate- is good looking too... I can say I did not like the Caddy CTS wagon some years ago...

These are not the FAMILY truckster that Chevy Chase drives and not meant for Offroad.

They have more storage then a sedan..... as peeps buying wagons are probably driving sedans now and not SUVs..

The AMG wagon is fast fast fast - Looks good as F1 racing medical car....

Too each his own...

UA 549. I am curious about your statement that US spec MB wagons do not have towing capacity. What is the difference between our US wagons and say European wagons

Mercedes does not offer the fully electric tow bar (hitch) or similar option in the US. If one wishes to tow a trailer then an improvised third party add on is required. IIRC they all require modifications to the rear bumper and either drilling or welding.

Wagon in the US are NOT mommy mobiles, most Americans dislike the wagon, hence the very low sales compared to other vehicles. When I see another wagon, any brand, it is usually a guy driving them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I think the E450 wagon is lovely, I thought the same about my previous 2015 Volvo XC70 T6. I totally disagree about the handling of a wagon, in my experiences with some of my past wagons, they handled as well as any sedan. Have you ever driven a wagon? I had a Golf wagon for a while and once I replaced the high profile 17" wheels/tires with 18" low profile tires that thing cornered like a GTI. The E450 is a road wagon why would I want to take it off-road? In off-road usage of any vehicle, tires would matter more than anything else unless you're doing technical off-roading and need high ground clearance. Back when I lived in MA, I had a 2005 Volvo XC90 V8 and one winter took my dogs to a parking lot at a trail head. The lot had about 8" of snow and I had no trouble getting in. Two hours later, I got stuck trying to leave and that vehicle had lots of grown clearance but my road tires were almost useless in the deep icy snow.

Wasn't this sarcasm? I certainly took it as such. If it wasn't, that's ok too. To each his or her own.

I did not take it to be sarcastic. But sarcasm like facetious doesn’t work on the WWW.

A lot of us here have very strong feelings about vehicles in general and our vehicles in particular. When I first became a member here, I think it was around 2013 or so, I made the mistake--as a "Newbie" mind you--of absolutely slamming another member's brand new car that had not even arrived yet and was still being built. It didn't make me any friends, not that making friends here is the goal, but I have learned that a softer approach, especially to voicing dislikes, seems to bring much better results. When I see things that I feel are just nuts and things I cannot say anything constructive about, I bite my tongue, say nothing and just move on. Some character that lowers his car, puts on bigger wheels, rubber band tires, removes mufflers, tints the windows black, etc. does not need to hear what I have to say about it--even thought I'd really like to jump all over him. Of course, as with most all posts made here, this is just in my humble opinion.

My Mom taught me at a very young age “ If you don’t have something nice to say keep your mouth closed “.
I have also learned that a complement from someone you hold in high esteem is great, but a derogatory remark from some you don’t hold in high esteem is worthless.
On the forum let’s all just try to be nice, there is already too much hate in the world.

So you folks don't want to read a serious opinion from someone who has actually experienced an E Series wagon? In my part of the world the only people that have wagons are women taking the team to soccer practice or school or whatever. There are a couple in my neighborhood that are strictly mommy cars. Some other members indicated that a wagon was a functional as an SUV. That really isn't the case regarding load hauling or towing capabilities.

Forums are for honest opinions, not just accolades - merited or otherwise.

I believe that most here appreciate honest opinions, I guess we just dislike having vehicles that we highly value being called “mommy cars.” If the truth be told, most mommy cars where I live are SUV’s. Both of my “mommy” daughters drive GLS SUV’s. The bottom line here is that both types of vehicles fill needs and desires. I will probably rarely carry anything more than my wife and I in our wagon, but I much prefer the looks of it over the W213 sedans and it’s pretty cool to not see another one around every corner.
