anyone know how to remove this chrome diffuser trim?

One of two ways:
Either take off the entire diffuser and you can push the pins out (I recommend this way because those pins will break and there are a lot of them) or two: pry the chrome out with a wedge and hope you don't break any pins.
The diffuser isn't hard to take off if you're handy, and have some-what any sense as to what you're doing. Good luck.
