Mine is a 2015. I had it repaired while under warranty that lasted for 1-2 years. Now it's doing it again. I'm using the bang the fist method UP and moving the switch. Sometimes that method does the trick, other times not. But, it will start moving again in the auto mode.
Dealership said it needed lubrication. I think it's more than that -- another "best or nothing" design from M-B. Right now it's working again for weeks.

Happened to me. Bang on the top of the column as hard as you can. It'll eventually go down and up again but. very slowly. I suggest you turn off the easy entry feature once you replace it so it doesn't break again and you're stuck fixing it on your own dime.
