“New” steering wheel

Hi All,

I have purchased a new used steering wheel so I can replace the old one I have. Its the exact same steering wheel, but from a car that has only run 10,000 km(mine has run close to 340,000 km)

I would like to ask if someone knows exactly how the change should be done(any pitfalls?)

I know to remove the power from the battery and I can see where the screws are located(the 2 that holds the airbag in place)

Edit: the replacement wheel has no airbag - so I will be using my old airbag

any schematics or tips would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Jake

Well I searched the internet and it does seem pretty straight forward. But I would like to know if anyone knows the size of Torx that is used for the center screw?

also is it enough just to disconnect the battery? Or should it also sit without power for a certain amount of time?( I have heard rumors between 30 min and 24 hours - to empty any current in the system - but I don’t know if its just an urban myth)
