Sub Install Now Screen not Working

Hi all. I've had a small Kenwood ksc-sw11 subwoofer fitted in my 2017 W205 for the last three years. I've recently bought a 2020 W213 with Audio 20 system so deceided I would refit the kenwood sub into it. I've taken the signal from the two rear speakers, tapped into the power cable going to the front passenger fusebox and turn on signal wire is taken from the 12v socket under the rear passenger air vents. When everything was wired and i went to turn on the radio to check it was all working I had a problem. The main screen would not turn on and the backlighting and buttons around the touchpad are not working. I can't use the radio or media player via the steering wheel either. I've checked the fuses in the rear, passenger and driver side locations (don't think there are any fuses to do with the sound system in the engine. I've looked online and some have said that maybe I should perform a hard battery reset which might get things going again but I'm wary of trying this as it may mess with other systems. One other thing to note, if I disconnect the two cables plugged in directly below the toughpad, the main screen turns on for maybe 20 seconds and then goes black.

It sounds like an overload causing an under voltage situation.

I wonder what could be done to rectify this. It would be nice to get the sub working as it's all installed and powering up but my priority is obviously that the screen and controls work correctly so I wonder if I take out the sub again will things revert to the way that they should be?

The only way to know is to disconnect all of the electrical connections that you added.
Even so, there may have been damage to an electrical component such as an IC.

I would undo what you did and leave it stock. Otherwise let a pro deal with it.

Finally got around to fixing it. Pulled all of the fuses for the comand system and put them back in 20 minutes later and it must have reset itself and is working again.

Good afternoon, I need your help. When you installed the subwoofer, what color speaker cables did you use to make the connection? Are these cables on the passenger side? thanks
