Wait the whole 10k for oil change?

Would you trust the every 10k miles for oil change or cut it short?

I change oil every 12 months even if the mileage is only 3k or 4k miles.

I have been adding an oil change at 5k miles - only because of the hours of idling time that covid-19 has added. Waiting for everything outside, in lines to get tested, etc means probably 10 hours of idle time each month. Plus, you actually need a tire rotation every 5K miles anyway - so, I do both and save the pre paid Service A for the 10K mile service. One thing - don't let them reset the maintenance reminder if you do the additional oil change - as mine now is counting down to a Service B instead of a Service A, which is annoying.

My '19 E450 4Matic Wagon just underwent it's first A service due to its time in service, (14-months) even though it only had 3,870 miles on it at the time as the maintenance reminder was letting me know I was 57-days past due (that being the result of two back to back hurricanes and my not having a dealer close by, i.e. nearest is 70 miles away). My practice has always been to change oil/filters at 5k and at least once per annum and do the tire rotations at every service on all my vehicles.

Just got my first service A done a few weeks ago about a month after the 1 year mark. I was at around 6500 miles for my E. I hated seeing the maintenance overdue notification every time I started the car.

To be safe, follow the recommended intervals. I have done so with each of my Mb's since 2005. Never had an engine issue!

I have followed the recommended oil change intervals on the six different MB's I have owned since 1999 and have never experienced engine issues or added a drop of oil between changes for any of these cars. Sometimes it's by the calendar and sometimes by the ,mileage but MB's recommended intervals seem to work.

I don't drive much (mostly I fly) so I've always done service annually - every end of August.
