I searched the forum but couldn't find any relevant threads so:

• Did anyone retrofit keyless entry with parts from eBay? (Parts seem to be incredibly cheap)
  • Or kits?

Unfortunately the dealer needs to program the fob regardless if you install the keyless hardware yourself. My car was in for 3 weeks because my KE failed but my fob still opened/closed/started the car. I would ask your dealer how much it cost to program the car with the KE entry and what would be required to get it installed. It’s not a plug and play system.

 

I understand. Not sure how incarpassion.com manage to sell plug and play KE-systems! I'm quite convinced other people than MB themselves can mount and code a retrofitted KE.

 

Subscribed. Also curious about this retrofit. My "new" W213 is lacking the KE, where my former W205 had it. Didn't think I'd miss it but i do

 

Nice mate! Same here. I confirmed, there are kits you can buy new, plug and play. So I suppose used handles plus that little box could be re-used from eBay, potentially with some coding? Anyway we need a w213-guru...
