W213 screen flashes

Hello everyone!
I have a mercedes w213 widescreen, year 2016. I have noticed these days some blinking or flickering on my screen, not the 2 of them but only the entretainment screen is flickering. I doubt about the batery but it is up to 12,1v so i think is ok.
If someone know anything about this problem, let me know.

The battery is 12,1v after 12 hours of the car being swiched off.
So i dont know if this table is for that case.
Please let me know if you know something more.

That table is for a battery that has been rested, such as overnight without being started.
So your battery really needs charging and then after 12 hours it should read 12.5 - 12.6 volts.

I would fully charge it and then see how things are.

What is your software version on comand? Buggy software could be the reason

To me that looks like a hardware failure or at best a loose cable.

The strange thing is that this blinking they are only in the navi and telephone. If i put the screen in the media menu or radio the screen is ok.

You have an old software version, I recommend you getting it updated one way or the other... it will give it a smoother and faster feel. Maybe it will solve your flickering aswell?

E350 wagon
Exclamation

mabe this could help. On some older Mercedes model 2009 to 2016 experience flickering of the comand display or turn off.
Highly Possible Cause:
When media (CD, DVD, USB, SD card, mobile phone, iPod or iPad) are used with some COMAND control unit this cause is an implausible music database.

Remedy:
Do not replace the COMAND control unit.. either removed the iPhone and/ or Update the software of the COMAND control unit and reset the customer-specific data at the COMAND.

Method 1: Eject/disconnect all media (CD, DVD, USB, SD card, mobile phone, iPod or iPad). If the COMAND control unit performs a cyclical reset, the COMAND control unit can be operated for a brief moment after the reset. In this moment the "Eject" button should be pressed in order to eject the CDs/DVDs in the drive.

Method 2: Eject/disconnect all media (CD, DVD, USB, SD card, mobile phone, iPod or iPad). If the COMAND control unit and performs a cyclical reset, the COMAND control unit can be operated for a brief moment after the reset.
Enter "Dealer Mode" by pressing "End Call" + "7" + "9" and select item "6" - Emergency Eject.

The resets no longer occur when the CDs/DVDs have been removed.
2. Export the customer-specific data from the COMAND control unit to an SD card/USB stick (for instructions, see the attachment or dump it)
Note: An SD card or a USB stick is required to make a backup of all customer-specific data such as navigation destinations, address book entries, etc.. using the Mercedes’ Benz flash card in some model.
3. Reset the customer-specific data in the COMAND control unit via the "System" menu, sub-menu "Settings" - If this step is skipped the issue WILL continue to occur!
• This will clear the implausible track database and restore the system to its nominal operation. If not see your dealer for update software.
• Important: all the customer's data, such as navigation destinations, address book entries etc. will be lost
4. Update the COMAND software to SW release or higher using Xentry Diagnostics.
5. Import the backed-up customer data from the SD card/USB stick back to the COMAND.

assume this could help a few with this issue. I have unplug my iPhone 12 from my E350 subsequent to screen flikering of the comand module and turned off the Bluetooth. It does not happen anymore….the comand work like a Swiss clock….! I don’t care about the cell being disconnected from Bluetooth, I don’t call anyone nor answer while driving. But if you care, buy an old phone the same years as your car and subscribe to a phone only service. That would be you car phone.
for music such as iPod use approved Mercedes’ Benz plug-in cable to connect your unit via the aux plug in the glove compartment.
For older model you have two choice with those cable. An old iPod plug or a phone jack that works with some phone. Don’t try to connect a So Called (2020 smart phone) unless you car takes it, you will scr….up you comand system.
this was my 2 cent…hope this help.

No tricks from 212 can be used on 213… the software and hardware are completely different.

this is very much a loose wiring issue to me.. however, it does not occur in media or radio, which tells this could be a software issue... typical software issues do not show as flicker. the LEDs can have a flicker, or the connection points... try the android/carplay connection screen, or any other screen such as the car menu and leave it there..

i had 0.61 software for sometime and moved to 6.80 which is good... try doing that asap with your dealer.. mine did for a small fee
