Does your 2021 E-class 4-door sedan automatic seat function correctly?

I have an issue with my 2021 E450 4-door sedan seat Automatic Easy Entry/Exit operation. I feel that the proper operation of the Easy Entry/Exit seat would be for the seat base to move back when exiting the vehicle. However, in my E450 the seat base does not move and the vertical portion of the seat tilts forward pushing the driver towards the steering wheel making it more difficult to exit and then re-enter the vehicle.

This feature is in Home/Settings/Vehicle/Automatic Seat Settings/Easy Entry/Exit/Steering Wheel and Seat

After reloading the software twice, I was told by my dealer’s service department and that the forward tilt of the vertical portion of the seat was correct. I disagreed and asked to test another 2021 E-series sedan. A new 2021 E350 on the lot had the same “no seat base movement and vertical forward tilt” that my E450 has.

I have asked MB Customer Care about this issue and they contacted my dealer’s service department who are now “researching the issue”.

This is my first Mercedes, but I have owned various luxury vehicles with automatic seats for over 25 years. In every other vehicle the seat moved back to allow easy exit and re-entry.

I am also looking owner feedback as to how the Automatic Easy Entry/Exit feature functions in other Mercedes sedans.

Mine 2018 E220D does it the same and i think too that this is not the right way to work. I have W164 with same function and there when i open the door or pull out the key after driving the seat moves back and steering wheel moves up so i can exit from the car without any extra movements. And then when i came in the car and close the door and put the key in to start the car, seats goes back to my stored position (#1), when m wife drive the car and press #2 the seats accepts her stored position.

I've been to my dealer (stealer) 2 times for soft updates about this issue and nothing happen Sadly warranty has expired and any future visit will cost a money for nothing, so im waiting my DAS Xentry from Aliexpress and will do some test my own. But i will be happy to find out a solution here too

I have a 2019 E450 Sedan. My seats work the same way, except that I learned if you set your seat back far enough for driving, the seat won't move back any farther when you exit...only the tilt and steering wheel move. If you move your seat forward enough, then the seat moves backwards and tilts. Not sure if the same would be applicable to the 2021 model. Hope this helps a little.

I have recently driven a GLB loaner car that does the same thing so I can confirm this is correct. I dont know why Mercedes thought that it was necessary to have the seat back move forward but I think its for older people who may not have the strength to push their backs up? But yes, every other car I have driven moves the seat back. However, my '213 doesn't have this feature, only the steering column moves.

My steering column moves sometimes only... I've done several times the calibration procedure and nothing... And there is enough space to move backward for the seat, backrest too and steering wheel.. I can't understand why it works like this. My older Mercedes works perfect and the new one it's like crap

I have the same problem. With the seat activated, when I enter the car the seat back is too far forward, which makes it difficult to get in, and I'm not supersized either.

My S211 did not have this problem. Its seat moved backward, as it should.

Does anyone know if this issue is only for W213 or it has it on other models like w222 / W223 ? I think it's general software bug and those guys from Mercedes have to open a recall program for this. In matter of fact this is not how should be work easy entry/ easy exit option in general...
