2020 E450 Wagon
Finally An Owner
Hi All,
I've been lurking around here for over a year, been searching and planning the purchase of a 2020 E450S4 wagon. I've been drooling over everyone else's E-class cars and waiting for my BMW X5 lease to end. Finally, I now have a E450 wagon of my own and got to spend two days driving a total of 1340 miles home to get to know it. I took delivery of the car from MB of Akron who gave me an awesome deal and took care of everything along the way, including paying my sales tax and registration where I live in the Austin Texas area. They were awesome! I drove from Akron OH, hitting some heavy snowing conditions from Columbus OH to just past Cincinnati, followed by a few hours of rain/snow mix through Northern part of Kentucky. Then things dried up and the rest was a breeze.
The seats were super comfortable for my two 8.5 hour days of driving, the performance of the car was awesome. I cruised between 75mph and 90mph depending on conditions and traffic, of course. Early on Sun morning cruising through a lovely section of highway through the woods on I40 through Arkansas I was cruising at about 87Mph when I spotted a white vehicle closing fast, at first I was like Oh no, a cop? It got closer and started to slow down, I could finally make out in my side mirror it was not a cope but something sporty and exotic. I expected it to pass but it didn't, looking over my left shoulder I could see it had slowed down to check me out in the early morning light. It was then I realized it was an Audi R8. The guy, who looked younger than me, pulled up next to me and gave me a thumbs up and he then accelerated away. I thought that was a compliment when an Audi R8 driver gives my E-wagon a thumbs up.
The car was driven by the dealer GM's wife for three months when I bought it and they stopped driving it. It only had just over 1240 miles, which was perfect as they broke it in for me for my long drive home. I inspected the car end to end and found only one small chip on the hood and two small ones on the front bumper. They gave me 10.5% discount off MSRP and threw in a few extras like all weather rubber mats, cable for my phone to connect to the car and a few other little things.
Today the car was dropped off the get PPF done (front bumper, entire hood, fenders and headlights) and they are also going to do a 30% all around ceramic tint on everything but the windshield. I'll snap some additional pics once I get it back. In the meantime, some pics of the day of delivery in the rain.
Thanks to everyone who answered many of my questions as I began this search. Looking forward to contributing as an owner now.

2020 E450 Wagon
My car is Polar White, not the Diamond White. I think its hard to differentiate them in photos.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Ya I thought that after I posted about the white. The polar white is just a bit brighter white. Still a very nice color though. I have Mandarus 23s. Very nice wheels and only 300 bucks a pop for new wheels when they get bent. That’s the biggest downfall I’ve found with these cars if you drive on anything but perfectly smooth roads they like to bend wheels stock or aftermarket. Maybe without the run flats less so. Gonna get rid of my run flats when they wear out for sure.
