2021 E450 Dash Cam - Automatic Recording ?

You would think that the new W214 would have improved the dashcam, but no. I have it and while it does auto start without issue, it only records forward and does not record audio. In my 2012 W212, I had a Blackvue dual channel that worked great. I may add something similar to my W214. I liked the idea of it being fully integrated, but MB doesn't seem to understand how and why dashcams are really needed and used. Maybe it's regulations, but I call BS on that.

To update:
For those who do not have the dashcam option (like me in France);
if you set your profile to another country (on the webpage) and then go to the app, it will give you the option to buy it.
There after you can set the country back to the correct one
You might want to check a few different countries to get the right price
For instance Switserland is CHF 299 = 318 euros
where as The netherlands = 240 euros

You don't change the region, you change YOUR personal address which is stated under your profile
just delete it and only choose a different country (that has the dashcam option)
there after in your app it will give you all the options you can buy for that specific country (provided your car has the right equipment of course)
After you bought it you can re-enter your correct address
and btw; the cam does start by itself (if you chose this setting)

Is there list, which says what is available in which country? And price differences list?
My native country is CZ
I have tried germany - got simillar things and prices
I have tried US - wasnt able to see store at all
I have tried SK - similar things and prices
I have tried UK - simillar prices but in GBP
Only thing thats not available here but in regions I tried is 360 guard, but hard to say if its just geolock for car or remote camera lookup

try the Netherlands or Switzerland, the option is definitely there.
Make sure you completely close your app on the phone and restart
and are you sure you got option 21U / augmented reality ?

Hi All
I have the Dashcam activated in the UK and also looking for a way to get it to auto record.
I have a an Obd scanner where I can change coding / adaptations etc, and quite experienced in the world of Audi and VCDS etc. Surely there is a region setting buried somewhere in the car that can be changed to activate this?!
