I have an E220D 67 REG. I just retrofitted my steering wheel to the new 2018/19 one. The buttons don’t seem to work. Does this need coding.. I keep getting told different things like I need to change my steering wheel column and so but if someone can please tell me if this is possible to resolve, thank you. You also need the new steering column without the cruise control lever along with the coding. You need the similar product as C4, C5 or C6 MB diagnostic tool connected to your car’s ODBC port and your laptop to code. Coding is not as simple as some may make it sound.
looking to retrofit my steering wheel but not sure how to get the correct Steering Column Switch Assembly. Are you able to assist with part numbers.
Here’s column switch assembly w/out distronic: original 1811 as compared to replacement 1411 and/or 5712 not sure what the difference is but codes match.
