Weird noise from interior of cabin when car is in standby
So I've tried Google and forums, but honestly don't even know what to really search for. When I have the car on with engine off just sitting listening to some music waiting for my wife to come out of the store, there is an occasional sound that comes from the door or B-pillar area that sounds like a gear moving. I can't tell what it does or why it does it.
Anyone have some knowledge on this?

mine does the same thing. It also sounds like its from the seat belt or something, but there is no actual movement in the seat belt. Its like this gear sound as you describe, but also imagine a wooden ball rolling across hardwood floor! Lasts about 2 seconds.

Not sure about the seatbelt tensioner. I can't find a video replicating the noise, but like Josh said, the seatbelt doesn't move when I hear the noise.
That is the exact noise a ball rolling on a wooden floor! It happens every so often when the car is stopped, but I don't see anything actually happen.

Hi guys, did anyone get to the bottom of this please? We think this is what may be causing the drain on our battery that no one can get to the bottom of. Any advice please? Mercedes have looked at it 5 times!
