E 300 AMG-Line diesel-Hybrid - 2021
Question Questions about plugin hybrid

I'm getting mine in July and have a few questions

- Does the car stil have a standard car battery, or is it "integrated" into the battery pack ?

- would you be able to run a dashcam IN PARKMODE directly of the battery pack

- can you still safely jumpstart another car, or be jumpstarted ?

- how should you use the battery ?
if I understand correctly, the best is to go full electric for short trips, and only drive mixed on longer trips?
(or should u always first empty the battery & then continue on petrol?)

- anything else that's different / good to know ?

EQC 4matic AMG line Premium Plus replacing S213 220d 4matic with airmatic
There is an English guy running an excellent you tube channel who goes through Mercedes models and facilities in reasonable detail he has recently done a video on the e class PHEV. Look up nick o’leary on you tube and you should find him. He works at a Mercedes dealership in the south of england. Some of your questions might be covered but maybe not all. We shall be getting our new cars in the ame month it seems. I am regretting mine is not an e class though rather excited to be going fully electric. Having the wallbox fitted a couple of weeks which will be interesting.

.
First, I'd like to buy a BEV but MB doesn't offer one in the USA.
Second, I'd settle for a PHEV, but MB doesn't offer one in the USA.
The warranty expires on my '18 E300 in August so I may be buying a Cadillac Lyriq or an Audi Q4 e-tron.

which company installed it and what make of box? Did it come with a cable? Mercedes are paying for ours and zeborne are organising.think it is a newmotion model but not sure which one. Never thought to order a spare cable to use just for home use when I ordered the car but now think it a good idea to save pitching up at a charger sans cable because I forgot to unplug the one in the barn wall charger.

I am getting an EQC by default as I want to go electric and it is the only choice at the moment. I need 4matic and the plug-in e class is RWD only and the battery intrudes into the floor space thereby making the estate less practical. I am still very sad to see the e class go and toyed with keeping it but the market is moving very quickly here in france and I ran the risk of having a difficult to sell car on my hands. I am eagerly awaiting the EQE but I doubt there will be an estate. Did not test the Audi e tron as Mercedes gave me a very good deal and I am reluctant to move from the brand which I like. I have driven a 300de very nice and despite the additional weight it felt just as agile.

it's a regular wall plug (like you have at home) and car the comes with several cables (incl one for home)
charging is not going so fast, but as it's only a small battery, it should be done in abt 4hrs

Great choice!
We have the E300e, and before that the 300de.

The car has a regular 12v battery as well, and the standard connection points under the hood where you can connect jumper cables.

Regarding driving modes you can either choose to run in hybrid mode (comfort or individual), where the car will use all the electricity if your going below 130 km/h. Otherwise you can run in battery level mode, where the car will keep current charging level until you switch back to comfort or individual. Sport mode will run the petrol engine simultaneously with the electric motor.

I usually run in hybrid mode when driving in cities, and in battery level mode on the highways.

Does anyone know how "battery level" works?

I thought it was supposed to NOT use the battery in this mode and charge it when possible,

But it seems lik it just holds the charge level it's at when you activate the mode.

In any case it DOES use the battery when accelerating in "battery level".

The explanation on the manual does not help much...

Have not used it (not sure I have it) but my interpretation from the drive mode name is it should do exactly what you describe. It does use battery and it does charge it but aims to keep the battery level at the current SOC.
