2022 E450 All-Terrain and the E-Class 2022 DOG
Last Saturday, I was told by my dealer that the 2022 E450 I order this past March had finally received a build slot -- the third week in August. I asked the salesman whether the 2022 had any changes (paint colors, interior changes, etc.) from the 2021. He opened up the relevant 2022 DOG. Absolutely nothing had changed, which I found a bit surprising. Might anyone know whether the actual 2022 DOG for the E-Class is actually on hold and what shows up now as the 2022 version is only a place-holder?

2016 C300 4Matic traded in for a 2022 E450 Coupe
The DOG I saw shows two new exterior colors for the coupe at least plus one minor addition to standard equipment. “Shrugs”
This has been the weirdest year for ordering cars!

Nautical Blue was added and Adaptive Highbeam Assist is now standard. Hands Free Access no longer standard and moves into DP1. That is it as of April for the E450 sedan.

I was told by my dealer today that the 2022 DOG did not show any changes for the All-Terrain between 2021 and 2022. I have a build slot that was originally supposed to be in the second decade of May that was moved to mid-June, and am told even though the car should arrive in the states by end of July it will sit in port until September when chips arrive to be placed in vehicles. Actually I could have placed an order for a 2022 to be built at end of July, but was told that would likely not be arriving until into September and also would be awaiting chips to be installed stateside.

Thank you for providing this information. Clearly my dealer is incorrect, or at a minimum does not have current information, because he actually read to me (I was talking with him by phone) a line for the 2022 DOG that said something about there being no changes. Thank you again though for this information.

I too have a build set to hit stateside in July but was not informed of the sitting in port until September. But I believe that would be true for me too. One thing I was considering in the all-terrain is having it fitted with 18" wheels so it is more comfortable on rough roads and dirt roads. I have yet to find a wheel that will guarantee fit the all terrain but can find them for the standard wagon.
Does anyone know if the braking system is different on the all-terrain compared to the standard e450 wagon that would make a wheel that fits the standard e450 not fit the all terrain?

I have a 2022 All Terrain ordered. It has a build date in December which is when MB will build All Terrains.
Very difficult to cut any price deal. At least I did not have to pay any 'premium' fee as so many others are being charged.

Be careful about what MB wants to build for you. We had an October 3rd decile build scheduled for our E450 All-Terrain. MB did not have a 12.3" display for our instrumentation and was going to insert a 10.5" one instead. We cancelled the order and resubmitted for a February 2022 build instead.

Interesting. I am supposed to receive my car next month. I assume they alerted your dealer who then alerted you. I had to sign a waiver on the Hermes module but didn't hear anything about screen issues. How'd you come to find out about it? Via MB USA or the dealer? Did they update your build and show you in writing or were they just hoping you wouldn't notice?
I guess, what I am getting at, was were they transparent about it, or did you/the dealer have to dig around to find out about the switch?

I just received a call from my dealer. Just what I was concerned about may happen. The AMG director is in contact with Germany about the possible shortage of the 12.3" display screens. I am waiting for tomorrow or the next day for clarification. I wear reading glasses and need the largest screen. I will not accept anything less than 12.3"" size.

My pleasure. I know that the chip shortage is impacting option availability so this may have been updated since I received it in March.
I am supposedly getting my car mid-October. I checked the VIN on Monroney Labels and all seems in order. But I’d brace yourself for either a lack of options like multi-contour seats, or a long wait—I ordered my All Terrain in February and am still waiting.

From my readings, I see that the 12.3 info screen is ubiquitous throughout the entire Mercedes product line. They should have developed a reliable 12.3" supply chain of screens to meet their vehicle needs.
I am feeling more confident that my vehicle order will be produced as I ordered and expected.
The only option that was not available for production was the MBUX Augmented Video for Navigation.
