2021 E 450 All Terrain
2021 All Terrain

I'm having a hard time finding threads for this car. We purchased one last week and are waiting for it to be delivered this week.

I would love to hear from other owners of this unique vehicle on their experiences of ownership so far.

I'm a mod guy and want to hear/see what you have done to your car. I will post pics as things progress.

There have been a small number delivered and reported on this site. Try the search feature. Sometimes I have better luck searching this site using google.com and restricting results to mbworld.org

2018 E400 Wagon
I'm ~3 months into owning mine, after ~3 years in an e400 wagon.

It's a major step up/forward, other than the debatably stupid plastic wheel arches. Smoother, faster, much more solid feeling. My wife still prefers the older one, I think mostly just for the vibe...lux trim, nut brown/piedmont green, walnut burl, wood wheel...it feels like a new vintage benz if that makes sense.

Mods (all minor) to date on mine:

-debadged the model/4-matic lettering just to have less chrome out back.
-thule aerobar rack.
-skiguard 830 touring roof box.

Up next:

-50% tint, 30% back window
-wrapping the leftover chrome at rear/handles/side skirts
-nokian hakka r3's for winter
-stealth hitch for the bikes

Bad snapshot here...we're heading out on a big road trip later this month so should have lots of scenic shots later!

I took delivery of my All Terrain this past April and love it, except that mine happened to be one of those cursed with a defective 48V battery, which has now been replaced by the dealer twice. When the 48V battery dies, the only option is a flatbed to the dealer and a wait for a new battery (which sometimes takes a bit of time because they're aren't yet readily available). Hopefully, the bad batch of batteries that has plagued several of the 2021 models is now history, and your new All Terrain won't suffer the same fate that mine did. That said, when the All Terrain is up and running, it's a wonderful vehicle. Mine is loaded with all the driver's assistance tech, and it has been flawless so far. Mine is also equipped with the enhanced NAV system, which overlays directions on a live image of your route, which is state of the art, as well as the built-in dash cam. I hope that you have a great experiences with your new All Terrain.

Very Nice. Hope that we are one of the lucky ones. Had a BMW X6M that stayed in the shop and it totally turned us off from BMW.

No, the car is very quiet even without the Acoustic Comfort Package.

I hope so too for your sake. I remain concerned that my second replacement battery is the same part number as the batteries that failed.

2021 E 450 All Terrain
We had 2 new grandkids, added to the 2 already, this year and the All-Terrain wasn't big enough. Really hated to let it go but needed something bigger. Wanted an GLS-450 but the way the market is now just didn't want to pay what they are asking. Hope all of y'all enjoy your cars.

E450 All Terrain
Lack of Hitch

We are getting married this summer and looking to buy our first family car. My first choice is the E450 All Terrain, the issue is there is no available hitch. I just got off the phone with Stealth Hitches in Atlanta and they confirmed that the plastic side well covers in the all-terrain are single use, meaning that if they removed them, they can't re-assemble them. They had a client come in looking to get a stealth hitch but had to send them away because it was impossible to remove the plastic bumper covers to remove the rear fender.

Does anyone have any insight into possible solutions?

Our second option is the GLE 53 AMG that comes with a hitch. I still prefer the wagon though.
