rear view mirror rattling
I had brought the car to Mercedes for an unrelated issue - mentioned to them there was a dashboard rattle. They identified the rear view mirror as the culprit and right enough when you tap it it rattles. The £500 + bill for a new one was a bit hard to swallow.
What is actually happening is that the 2 downlights built into it have plastic covers that can be loose, these are whats rattling.
For me, i used a bit of clear tape over each one of them to stop the movement, this works!!!.you could also try a small bead of clear sealant applied to the edge of the plastic covers.
