I have my sunroof open most of the time except during July and August. I've owned a couple of rag tops but the ladies do not like them because it messes their hair. I won't buy a car without a sun roof.

In the vein of Wagons Are Scarce, there is a CPO 2109 E450 with 3,500 miles listed at MB of Fort Lauderdale; cardinal red, which is pretty rare indeed. Just an FYI if anyone is seeking the unicorn.

Tenn. not a very informative listing. I can’t tell what’s on the car. Air control? I have found AutoNation to be like shopping at Kroger’s.

Totally agree with the assessment of the available information at the moment. It just popped up in my CPO listings, so I thought to share that information which I had. Looks to be rather recently arrived. Perhaps more info will be available later, or one could simply contact the dealer if more information would beneficial. Red is indeed unique.

Thinking about selling my 2019 and waiting for a 2023.

G550
39k miles
AMG line
Polar white

I am conflicted as to whether to sell it or not!

Anyone sold and had buyers remorse?

You might make a lot of money as MB declared they will not be making those for 2022 (or most other V8 engined MB vehicles) and your mileage is fairly low. It could set you up nicely for a 2023.

Wait for a new G. They said I would be #3 on the list for a 550

But... the new RR does look kinda nice (not a popular opinion here). I would like to see one in person and I am worried about all that technology failing.

Neighbor has RR Cullinan; beautiful, extremely well appointed, but damn it's just large. Dash is a bit too Land Rover; but OMG, comfortable! Quite the stand out in the world we live in.

I do really want to see the 2023 RR in person but it sounds like that will be difficult to do in the short term. What a crazy world we live in

2020 E450 Wagon
I dropped my wagon off today to get the fan unit replaced in the overhead console as it has gotten quite loud when starting the car up and runs for a while. I reported this in Sep and they finally got the part in. I received a call from the SA with good and bad news. Good news, installation is done but the bad news is the part isn't working. So, they reinstalled my noisy fan, at least it works and they need to order another part. There are none in the US so will have to wait for it to arrive from Germany.

He told me he has two cars in the shop which require new EGR valves but there are none available in the US and due to supply chain he has no idea when they will arrive and its been over a month now. My problem is very minor so not too worried. I've not heard of anyone else with this issue with the fan.

I see several of them around my area and I just don’t care for them. I have no doubt that they must drive amazingly, but to me, they just look way too ostentatious and too “in your face.” That is a vehicle that I would be embarrassed to to drive. Can you imagine taking that thing down to Home Depot to pick up a sheet of plywood?

Gee, I thought the Cullinan was rather understated, especially for a Roller.

I’m clearly playing out of my league here. I know of no one who owns a Mercedes or BMW or Audi. I certainly don’t have any RR by me. My neighbors are all Chevy, GMC, Toyota and Honda.

I guess seeing more exotic vehicles all the time is one of the very few benefits of living here in this idiotic state. But our entire family, including six grandchildren live here, so I don’t believe we will be moving anytime soon. My wife and I were born & raised in Southern California and we both admit to being “California Sissies” when it comes to the weather. Honestly, the weather is pretty much the ONLY reason to live here.

You aren't alone in the league, I'm right there with you! There are some high-end cars tucked away in my town, Ferrari, Mclearen, Lamborghini BUT they are tucked away and rarely see the street.
Just did a Carfax search for 2017 E400 wagon - there are 18 listed including the 1 below - takes brass to increase a car with Structural Damage
There is a total of 634 of all 2017 Eclasses listed for sale on Carfax, so wagons represent less than 3% of what's for sale
2017 MERCEDES-BENZ E400 4MATIC; VIN: WDDZH6GB5HA204461
WAGON 4 DR
Alpha Motorsports Manassas
211 days on CarGurus
Price history Price increased by $2,000

ORIGINAL $44,500 CURRENT $46,500
09/17/2018 Damage reported: moderate damage
12/12/2019 Damage reported: moderate damage
07/16/2020 Structural damage reported
Unibody damage disclosed by seller based on results of a visual inspection

Not to derail this thread, but you commented, it’s a lazy Sunday morning so I’ll reminisce a bit:

In early 1987, Frank Sinatra gave me his tickets to the Academy Awards. I wanted to “ARRIVE,” and I didn’t think my 1987 560SEC had enough “bling,” so I rented a black on black, 1986 Corniche. I liked it, so later that year, I bought a brand new white one with tan interior, off the showroom floor at Rusnak RR in Pasadena. This was before leasing really became mainstream and cars like a Corniche were still a reasonably rare sight, even in “LA-LA Land” where I lived at the time. Driving in that car with the top down, I felt like the Grand Marshall of the Rose Parade. It really was over-the-top ridiculous for someone like me, but it was a kick. I drove with the top down almost exclusively and used to love pulling up to my favorite deli for breakfast, wearing jeans & a T-shirt, watching as folks wondered “WHO” I was, because I must have been “somebody.” One time, while driving on the Santa Monica Freeway, a car full of young women pulled their tops off and flashed me, if you can believe it!

The car was absolutely lovely, but truly a piece of junk compared to MB’s & BMW’s of the day. There were issues with the chrome plating, the paint, the floor mats and the gorgeous “Connolly Hides” started to crack almost immediately. If you pushed the car even slightly, all sorts of unpleasant, burning aromas would enter the cabin. Anyway, I sold the car after owning it for less than a year. My car looked just like the one in this ad. We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

I learned many years ago that it was counterproductive to have the BW involved in vehicle purchases and indeed they were best conducted while she was out of town.
