E220d estate 2017
Too much engine oil

Hi, I recently bought an E220d w213 estate, and the oil change was done few days before buying the car. Following day I noticed a message saying that is too much oil. And since then I get that message randomly, usually once a day, and mostly when I drive with higher speed or higher revs. The car doesn't have a dispstick to pump out the extra oil and I don't have a way of getting under the car. Is there another way to suck the extra oil? I don't know, maybe through filter housing or somehow? I really don't wanna go to a garage and having to pay a day's worth of money, for a half an hour job, to remove some excess oil. Also I don't know how much is extra, so I would probably have to remove a little by little, untilthe car is happy again. Thank you

Take it back to the person/dealer who did the oil change.

That^ as for why the oil level differs, it is because engine oil expands when heated. Hopefully they didn't overfill too much, otherwise make sure to held them liable for any potential engine damage due to overfilling. You don't want oil leaking in the wrong places of the engine causing damage. Overfilling leads to engine oil foaming which decrease the engine oil's lubrication properties, it is almost as worse as under filling engine oil.
Sorry all this happen, get them to correct the level as soon as possible. Hopefully it wasn't overfilled by too much and caused any damage, good luck and keep us posted.

You should have immediately brought it back to the dealer. If it was a private sale, you have no choice but to have it taken care of.

Yes - agree - get it taken care of at dealer right away. Happened to me when my 2020 GLE was new - first oil change, they overfilled it and I had to go back. They changed the oil again.

E220d estate 2017
Unfortunately the dealer is almost 5 hours away from me, and with this latest fuel crisis I can't afford to go all the way there. The dealer said that he talked with the garage who done the service and they said that they filled it by the book, but from what I read online usually this is happening if they don't drain the old oil properly, so the leftover oil will add to the added oil (by the book) and ending up with excess oil. He recommended to do the oil change again, and if it's still happening then it is the sensor. But the recent service on the car was an extra selling point, so I don't want to start spending money already on this. On level ground the oil measurement is in the green, but the oil level is still above the maximum, so I doubt is the sensor.
So there is no way to suck out some extra oil, without going under the car or taking it to a garage?

Crawl under the car, remove the underbelly panel, open the drain screw and drain 1 liter. Tighten the drain screw to 30Nm if it is an M13 socket.
