E 350 d 4-MATIC AllTerrain W213 ***VIBRATIONS***
Dear forum-members,
When driving at least 60 km/h the car starts to vibrate. This gets worse at 110 km/h. The frequency correlates with the speed (just like if wheels were unbalanced). However, all wheels are balanced and checked now 2 times. This vibration-problem does not occur every single time, but occasionally.
Any ideas or suggestion where to start investigating this issue in greater depth?
Many thanks in advance!

Wheel (vehicle) speed related items:
- wheels
- tires
- wheel bearings
- brake rotors
- halfshafts
- propshaft(s)
- axle differentials
- transmission
- engine (at the speed in question)
You say you have ruled out wheels and tires. Engine is easy to rule out at idle. With the transmission in Park, slowly rev the engine up to the rev limiter (this will be far below redline). Any vibrations?
If the engine is ruled out, start working on each of the other items one by one.
Try gently applying the brakes at the speed where you hear or feel the vibration. What happens?

i also had this with my regular w213, but they never managed to figure out what it was .
dealer though it could have been the drive shaft, but said it was only a guess; the only way to be sure was to actually change it
But it's not an uncommon problem apparently. if you search the forum you will find more people who had/have the same issue.

If the car sat on a dealer lot a long while the tires could be flat spotted and will probably eventually go away as the car is driven more, not sure how long you have had the car. This happens with my car for a couple of weeks after it sits for a while.
