Hi guys !

When delivered, I received my E450 T 4Matic fitted with Hankook’s tires that I traded in, after just 6000 kms, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 - 245/45 R18 100Y which are really much much better in all circumstances, mostly on the wet, perhaps just a tad more noisy on certain surfaces.

I cannot understand why Mercedes fitted the car with such unadapted tires

For the winter season I have got Good Year Ultra Grip 8 Performance - 245/45 R18 100V XL that are really good, mostly on the wet.

These are our winter conditions, for some 3 months, never got stucked, never needed chains, just raise the suspension.

p.s. the lady sleeps outside and never missed a start even at - 18’ celsius !!!

Both sets of tires are no-runflat, hopefully because this type of tires ruins the comfort.

Last time I had a puncture, was some decades ago; but, some time ago I have ruined a tire with a stone that could not allow any driving and the change of wheel was necessary. Not having any spare wheel, I had to call for a truck.

My apologies, I forgot to respond to NorseWagon I believe on where I ordered the bumper protector I showed on my wagon.
Thanks.

Welcome aboard Mr. AMGBM.
I know the mountains are tall in Switzerland, but not 46500 feet?

Just divide 1400 by 0,305 .

1400 mt = 4,590 ft.

Anyhow where I live I can see a dozen of mountain peaks that are over 13,000 ft. !

Oh interesting. Did you ever go to Cape Town?
Nah, never had the pleasure, but rounding Cape of Good Hope the shipping company would send out a helicopter to us with mail and fresh food,
(If they were in a good mood)
Long trip from the Persian Gulf to Europort in a slow super tanker loaded with crude.
Yeah heard South Africa was going down the tubes, it will probably be a slum in a few years.

Aye, back to Wagons..
Still working on the Owner's Manual, got a few more items to program but on the right track,
Scratching my head on the 2 different tire pressure labels, will call MB and get the official story.
Also why is one rear view mirror tilting up in reverse instead of down..?

AR...?
Artificial Reality?

As for Apple Car Play: It can be convenient when you get SMS messages while driving, they will convertt to voice and you can respond with voice and send on, no hands needed.
On previous cars I used Apple Car Play for navigation: Enter the destination on your phone, then plug and play in the car and off you go.
Also used WAZE when plugged in to Apple Car Play, comes in handy if there is an accident. (it will tell you how screwed you are, wife hates it, she does not want to know how long the delay is)
On the MB however: Found out 2 days ago I can enter in the destination on the MB app on iPad or iPhone, then send it to the car, even easier than Apple Car Play, no cable needed. (No Plug, only Play)
Question: Does the MB Navigator include traffic updates, OR is that something one pay extra for like a subscription.

FB: Come over to the dark side and join the "Mercedes-Benz E-Wagons" Group, so far it is the smallest group on the planet, only The Founding Father and 1 member.

Yup talking about the augmented reality navigation for those who have it, I understand chip shortage means a lot of people weren't able to get it.

Would that be on the Build Sheet? (2019 E-450)
Or is it a brand new thingy for 2021?

Augmented reality. When using the NAV, the screen shows a real time camera image of the the turn you're supposed to make, for example, with an overlaid street name and arrow pointing you in the right direction. When searching for a specific address, again there is a real time camera image with addresses superimposed over the houses or other buildings. I've been through a lot of NAV systems, and this is by far the best. What I miss about WAZE, however, are the real time notices of police, construction or objects in the road as you approach.

Does it solve the issue of addresses being incorrectly registered coordinate wise so Nav shows an address at a given point and sometimes its actually 100 yards down the street?

Ha, I highly doubt that that it does, Fleuger. That can be frustrating, can't it. It will be fun to see what the overlays show and say when that happens though.
