Is there a way to remote start the car with the key fob alone and not buying any additional subscription from mbrace or mercedes me app? Mine comes with keyless go package. Thanks.

No, MB didn't offer fob remote start in 2017. The only OEM option is a paid subscription with mercedesme.

Like chassis stated not through OEM means but you can go aftermarket if you really want to.
A forum member called Tuner did just that, hopefully his/her post is able to help you out (quick note, this is originally done on a W205 C-Class)

Hi ram0201 -- we will have coverage available for your vehicle in late January 2022. The installation will require an extra vehicle key fob, and you will be able to start the vehicle with a tap of the panic button on your daily use factory vehicle key.

thank you all... who is the 'we' here? and is there a link? I'd like to buy it when available... i spoke with mercedes services today, and they gave me a 3 month trial (after offering it for 500 - 3 years, which I declined!)
