This thread.

Anyways, I'll get my vin soon and then (even then) I'm going to just wait. I haven't a clue.
Some people say that the vin can change after the build.

But I'm going to be very careful about this issue.

Correct.

I Mac Jones is still confused, my suggestion is for him to go back to posts #73 and #74.

Now why would I be confused when you just posted: "The size of the screen is verified in my post #40, 28 X 6.. The images are 12.4 inches." ?

It's just we are not on the same page and probably will never be, which is fine. I do sort of need this thread, so I'm hoping now something else will be missing (besides this screen) so I can (not be confused).

Hi Mac,

I hope your car comes as described in the build without issue. Anything missing should be made clear to your sales rep and will show up as a credit. Mine came without the Hermes chip and it was clear as day to me that would be the case before I took delivery.

My car has had some early quality issues. Big issue was a dead 48v battery 25 miles in. After that I have had four fit and finish problems—rattles and creaks around the cabin and in passenger mirror.

I will get these cleared out when I bring it in for the Hermes install.

It’s a great car to drive, but I fear the supply chain woes and C-19 may be impacting out the door quality. I hope this isn’t the case for you.

Thanks. It's all new to me ordering like this, especially these days, but that's the reason I'm doing it. So many weak links, from the dealer sales, to the delivery and the 'supposed' price I've been quoted.

Regardless, it's interesting, and since my deposit is refundable, not particularly stressful, although I will need a car this year.

FWIW—I traded in a perfectly good ‘17 e400 wagon for the All Terrain and been happy with my decision besides the up front quality issues and 8 month wait. The inline 6 and 48v system is buttery smooth and the mbux is way better than the command system.

My only real gripe is no wireless CarPlay. My rental Hyundai had it but MB can’t seem to figure it out. Oh well….

Does anyone know if you get a credit for the smaller screen (like for the missing trunk opener or Hermes module) and if so, how the credit appears on a build sheet?

Up thread others indicated the credit shows up on the Monroney label as 150 USD credit.

I can’t verify that, but it sounds right. If you have a VIN you should be able to go and pay for a Monroney label pretty easily.

Here is the screen information on the purchase order and the window sticker:

The dealer has still not been abler to re-order our car due to missing interior elements. All of the screens and (our) options are available now but not the MANUFAKTUR Macchiato Beige/ Saddle Brown Nappa Leather package.
