I but a used digital display to replace the analog...the replacement was not complex, the kilometers appeared with ------ (normal from what I read here)
the problem is that right side screen doesn't turn on...
everything works fine but image not appear ...
I saw in another post that the screen needs coding ... can someone clarify what this is?

That’s correct, you will need to get someone to do the coding for you. Coding is configuration of software to work with the car and new digital screen. I doubt the dealer will do that for you. You need someone with a MB diagnostic tool that can do the coding. Where are you located?
