W213 Wheels: Are aftermarket wheels weaker and what to go for?
Hey guys
New Member here, I have an E Class, 2017 model, 4Matic with AMG line package.
My front right alloy cracked and I am looking at options.
Currently repairing the wheel, but I am thinking of going to aftermarket wheels.
i was told that aftermarket might have quality issues, as they might be weaker.
What are your experiences? Any recommendations for brand that is good?

IMO it goes back to the cast wheel vs forged wheel discussion. We had an R231 SL550 with the AMG cast wheels (Borbet) and after we cracked the second one, we went forged after market, Avant Garde; ran those wheels for three years with zero issues. There was a class action suit in 2015 against MB for the AMG cast wheel failures, which was dismissed: link here: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2...ismissed.shtml .
Lower profile tires are more susceptible to damage, RF or non RF tires; there are a number of manufacturers who produce forged wheels for MB cars; your taste / style will determine which you may wish to engage. TireRack is a good source to begin your search; and if you belong to your local MB club, you may find additional information there. Also look in the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forum section on this site. Lots of good wheel and tire information there.
Good luck in your hunt, forged is the way to go IMO.
