Options in other parts of the world
Hey all.
I was just wondering if Korea is the only place where you can get most (or all) of the options already built in?
My car will be here in March, W213 2022 E class 350 4Matic AMG line, and it has almost everything except the optional paint and seat colors.
What are the costs where you live for a fully optioned E class?
Thanks.
Best,
David

Holy smokes! Yeah... wife would kill me for that.
The only option choices I had were very limited. They just slap everything together and give you the total price saying;
Dealers: Ta Da! Look at what you get!
Me: But... but... I don't need the massaging chairs.. I have one at home already.
Dealers: There is always the base avantgarde.
Me: Fine...
I'm already looking at the EQE and I haven't even taken ownership yet. I think in a couple years, the EQE will be even more stunning.

In EU, you can choose most of the options yourself. Some come as packages though.
I ordered not long ago and I couldn’t get some options I wanted like: MultiBeam lights. Also no memory seats, no button to close your boot.
None of the models would have LTE module fitted for now which means no remote options would be available until this has been fitted.

In East (Dark
) side of EU you can choose most of the options offered by Daimler (probably everything i havn't done deep research). But if you want, for example, clima seats, then you must pick up, heating seats, full-leather seats and memory (or you could order it as a package). If you don't want leather, then you can choose heating seats and memory. Same is for multimedia. If you want to combine by yourself the options and configure it your own, it's very likely to be impossible to do it as you want it to be. Or you should order something extra which you probably don't want..
@tyo where do yo live and why you couldn't get Multibeam? Mine has it and also has memory, button for soft close (recently i have a problem with it... ) and also has NTG 5.5 with HERMES. Very strange for you that your dealer don't offered it.

Regarding options this has nothing to do with dealer but Mercedes itself!
I have chosen packages and yet options weren’t available so dealer removed options manually from the configuration code, I sent them. So I won’t get full Keyless-Go for example. I added ventilated seats but no memory. Got full leather seats also! Some minor things but still not that bad.
For example in GLE you can’t even add pneumatic suspension as it isn’t available although shows up on configuration site.

In the US, a lot of things are “packages” meaning if you only want one piece of it you’re out of luck, but they’re usually packaged together logically. And we have a great amount of standard features (keyless go, heated seats, memory full power seats, big displays, power trunk…) and reasonable prices.

Thanks OP for starting this thread, so now I fully understand what curiosity killed the cat means.
I looked up the most expensive country to buy a vehicle and Singapore topped the charts. I configured a E 300 with all the options available which works out to be
...drum roll...
458,988.00 SGD converted to pounds is 251,173.51 GBP or 298,593.86 EUR or 341,540.69 USD (currency conversion rate as of February 3rd EDT) and tax might not be included which is another 110% or 200% according to the article that mentioned Singapore is the most expensive country to buy a vehicle or maybe tax is actually included on MB Singapore's site.
So that took 1 live out of the 9 the cat has, I am worried that a few more lives will be taken if I configure an E 53 or E 63s.
I can't imagine how much supercars are worth. That might kill the cat completely, I feel bad for the cat : (

Here explains the price structure pretty well, if one is interested to read further.
https://dollarsandsense.sg/no-nonsen...-so-expensive/
So, a basic humble US$ 20,000 Honda Civic costs a whopping US$ 109,000 in Singapore.
Singapore is a very small country and it has to adapt such an aggressive price structure. But, on the brighter side, it has very good public transportation system.

That price has all the taxes included.

Definitely not a place that car enthusiast wants to live in, I understand (as in just read a few more articles) there are problems of traffic congestion in Singapore despite having these crazy high prices for cars so even that doesn't solve the problem.
