Eco mode compare
I drove a loaner c class today in all modes. The ECO is very nice and smooth. I think it is way much better than the eco mode of e class. The comfort in e class is nicer and actually returns a bit of better or equal fuel economy as the eco mode... Any other thoughts? My w213 eco is kind of rough and have to give more gas to push the car forward... Any way to adjust? I use premium Costco gas

Are you comparing the facelift C-Class or the pre-facelift? so 2019+ or 2015-2018.
Are you comparing a pre-facelift E-Class or the facelift? so 2016-2020 or 2021+
I believe the facelift E-Class improved in this regard.
That being said, facelift or not keep in mind the E-Class is a heavier vehicle so it is natural that you need to push the throttle more to bring it up to speed. The eco mode is purely used to dull throttle response anyways. The C-Class is meant to be a more sporty car and the E-Class is supposed to be more about accelerating gradually (for non AMG vehicles) so might be designed that way too.

Did the C have 48v mild hybrid? The start stop is infinitely better with the mild hybrid cars as there is immediate throttle response from the electric motor.

I get about 30 MPG in comfort mode and 35 MPG in Eco mode on my 2021 All Terrain. the ride is nice in both modes. As nice as the S Class I traded in (I drive at 70 MPH)

On my E220D 4matic on Comfort mode my fuel consumption is around 6.2 on highway with 160 km/h and on ECO mode it's 5.7 liters per kilometer with same speed. But i love ECO mode because of the gliding mode. When i drive on long distance and i'm not in a rush i put it on ECO and the car just floats through the road.

As you mentioned, the throttle response is affected. Eco in the C-Class also allows glide mode to be activated but doesn't in comfort but I believe both Eco and Comfort in the E-Class also allows it. Other things Eco does is affect your climate control, the shifting might be affected and it likes to get to Gear 9 as soon as possible to be the most efficient. In the C-Class, it also puts the eco start/stop back on, the E-Class shouldn't do that.

yes, i think it is a 2021 C class.. the old E class 2017 is not that great in ECO mode... yes the car is heavy and shows as such... needs the comfort to 'glide' although no glide mode!

My 17 E class has glide mode; when you release the gas and coast, the transmission decouples. But this doesn't happen all the time I noticed, plus it uses the radar sensor as well and will not activate glide mode if you are too close to the car in front.
