Designo Wagons?
Hello Everyone,
I'm up in Canada and picked up a '15 GL350 with the interior Designo package a few months ago. The car has been great so far and has led me to looking for a replacement for my Audi RS4 that won't accomodate the entire family anymore (18 month old and twins on the way in a month) . One of the contenders in W213 wagon (not the AT) and given how much I like the Designo interior package on the GL I'd love to find a W213 wago with it as well. I've been passively looking since January and haven't seen a single one come up for sale. Wagons themselves are rare enough as it is but I'm wondering just how much more rare Wagons with the Designo interior package are? Does anyone own one? Seen one? Were they even available specced that way? From reading some of the documenttion out there is seems that they were but I havent actually seen proof of it yet.

Streamliner has an E450 wagon with the designo interior; likely others I don't know about. In my viewing of the CPO E450 wagons, I find some with designo paint, however I have found none with the designo interior. Good luck in your search!

I ordered mine with a designo interior. It’s beautiful and comfortable. I also have 2 young ones, so I’ve got the back seat covered with a weathertech protector, car seat mats, and then their car seats. Someday the seats won’t need so much protection from them. By then they’ll hopefully appreciate the heated rear seat option too.

I thought about the designo when I was shopping for mine. The light beige killed it for me. Might hold up fine but I would have been worried about it all the time.
Landed on a combo that felt plenty lux....nut/espresso, with burl. mbtex is just so indestructible.
Better pics than I ever took...lol: https://www.carsauto.com/2018-merced...tic-c-2051.htm

Thanks everyone. Good to see that there are some real-world examples of these unicorns. I'm thinking they're even more of a unicorn up here in Canada but I'll be patient and wait until one comes up. Or maybe by that time that new A6 etron wagon will be out.

I guess the package costing upwards of $4K makes it a rarer option. I lucked out with a CPO MY18 lunar blue exterior and designo beige/saddle brown interior. Gets lots of complements and everything other than screens and buttons are covered in leather. Always makes me feel good walking up to the car and seeing the two-tone interior through the windshield.
Caveat...why make the center of the seats and the steering wheel the lighter color? I clean my steering wheel probably once every 2 weeks with leather cleaner to keep it bright and clean, but its work.
