I know this can be subjective or objective. I'm in the market for a 2017 W213. My past experience with Mercedes is that they are very high maintenance. In this rough car market, finding a certified preowned may be harder than normal. What are some of the major issues, if any, should I be aware of if I purchase that model year? I've owned Lexus, had very few problems, but they don't have the presence of the Benz. I want to go back to the big boy. lol
I saw that thread yesterday and responded that I found my answer. Its a shame because the E class is the best looking of the midsize luxuy cars. Audi looks good but is problems. BMW looks good but is problems. Lexus looks bland, but is relatively reliable. Its like there is no choices in that range and I'm not gonna even look at Genesis.

Its always been my preference not to buy a 1st year German car, best to buy a 2nd or 3rd year at least. Most of the issues of the 2017 E300 have improved or fixed in the 2019 model. MB is not anymore reliable than Audi or BMW in my opinion. Japanese cars are generally more reliable but less prestigious, less driving dynamics and not as well designed as German cars. Genesis is a lot of car for the money but again, it is not in the same class as Mercedes. Originally Posted by nubirthestate
