Have a new E450 and used Distronic Plus and went under a toll camera area. Shocked us when the car quickly slowed down to a crawl. This happened every time we went under a toll camera area. I could press on the accelerator and it would resume but it was very surprising to see that fast slowdown.
I assume the system thought there was a tollbooth at the location, but there have never been tollbooths at any of these locations. Is there a way to disable this? In Texas we fly through those at 70-85 mph so it’s definitely not safe to have the car suddenly slow down like that.
That is the route-based speed adaptation. All explained in the owners manual. Probably should read that to understand how your car behaves in various situations. It can be turned off as well.

Then it adds the additional dimension of what it takes to get an answer from the manual, a poor piece of technical writing IMHO. I expect it would take six weeks to read the “FM” and after that the comprehension rate would be abysmal.

That’s why I said it was nice of Superswiss to do what he did. I’m not used to people being that helpful on a forum. No offense or sarcasm was meant. I’ll just stay out of it from now on.
