Replacing engine block
Dear friends,
I face a big problem in the cooling system of my car - E220D 2019 , with ONLY 195KM
All the time cooling water alert red light was ON and I had to add water.
In my garage they checked and replaced all items and assemblies related to the cooling
system , without solving the problem and they come to the conclusion that their is
CRACK at the engine which caused the water to "disappear".
We replaced the engine and all is good now ... BUT.....
I asked that Mercedes with the local agent will cover this replacement just because , the engine
is with ONLY 195KM , all necessary maintenance done according to the requested manual,
but they refused.

Your car is 3 years old and you have only 195 km? Did you have it in storage? In the USA, new Mercedes has a 50,000 mile powertrain warranty, which would covered crack engine block. That is about 80,000km, you have 195 km. What is yoir factory powertrain warranty?

Sounds like he had an independent garage do the repair instead of at the local Mercedes dealership. Not surprising Mercedes said no

Well, that Is different now. 195,000 km is about 120,000 miles, well pass the US powertrain warranty period of 50,000 miles. How many miles and years does Mercedes offer in Israel? Usually if you are a little over the warranty mileage, Mercedes would make a good will repair but not when the mileage is more than double the limit.

well if work is complete why would anyone come back to pay for it since it appears you already did.

Doesn't matter. If the repair work wasn't carried out at an authorized Mercedes dealership no way will Mercedes corporate help you out. Plus, it sounds like your car is way outside of any warranty coverage. Sorry but you are out of luck.
