i've been searching around, but could not find comprehensive answer if it is possible or anyone has tried to install/activate Apple Carplay on this lesser Media screen, Audio 20 (code 522) in Mercedes W213. I saw some OBD tools, but if I'm correct those will not work for my car. I noticed there is some aftermarket solutions (box or something) that can be installed and it'll work.
I am trying to achieve the same thing. Did you find a solution?
Unfortunately no, seems that the only way how to make this work is to install separate hardware unit, which connects to entertainment system or completely change Audio 20 unit for command with a new display and coding..

Gotcha. Just wanting to confirm, I have the audio 20 system with garmin maps, a small screen (8.4 inch) and no touch pad. Just looking at picture you provided, I think you have the same set up right? I was wondering what is it in this system that would make it not possible to activate apple carplay
