Air fragrance (air balance) upgrade on my w213.

Hi mates, mine 220d doesn’t have air balance package so I’ve heard that it’s possible to install it my own and need to be coded after that. Is it hard to install it on my car? I have upper mid skills on cars and changing broken stuff in my own. Just can’t code it because I don’t have Monaco or a Vediamo (for now ). Can someone tell me what kind of parts should I need to install it. As far as I know I need the “nest” with part number A2228900100 , some bracket for the bottom, a special size tube according to my vin. And the fragrance itself. Anything I’m missing ?

Coding is quite easy if you have the right tool. The fragrance and ionization menu can be activated via OBD port under driver dash. It doe not require complicated coding, unlike multibeam activation.

I cant comment on factory option, but I am in the process of installing an aftermarket option. Supposedly made in the same factory as oem. Just wirings are made easier for plug and play.
Menu have been already activated. Just need to find a day to remove the screen, dash and finally glovebox assembly...

This was not my experience. Would you mind sharing your wiring? I have mine installed, the place I bought it from did the coding remotely, but I cannot figure out the wiring. I have the power and the gnd, but there are two more wires that must be connected to wires already under the dash.

Yes, 1 wire is tapped into blower motor. Look for the thin green wire.
The other wire is connected to glovebox light assembly.

See top 2 pictures.

I went back and did this as much as I think I could. In the picture it appears to be a white wire, my car appears to have a gray wire. However, I am sure that is just my eyes or picture quality.

Do you (or anyone else) have troubleshooting skills? When I go to the menu to turn it on, the default is "off" when I check one of the other choice ("low" "med" "high") it indicates my choice, and then 2-3 seconds later it goes back to off.

When I choose the ionization choice, it allows that.

The unit LED light is on. But it has done this since install. I am sure I have hooked up something wrong I am hoping someone can say "yes, you did X wrong, change it to Y" because I am getting tired of taking off the dash and glove box starting anew each time and checking all connections!

I will take some detailed pictures during my install this weekend and post them. Hopefully that would help.
i dont even have anything hooked up yet, but i am allowed to actually choose between different frangrance power and the selection remains, and also enable ionization. 🤷‍♂️

By yhe way I have 4 wires.
1 for fusebox
1 for ground
1 green wire labeled LIN
1 blue wire labeled BOX CHECK.

LIN wire connects to factory gray wire.
BOX CHECK connects to glovebox light wire.

I cannot thank you enough. I'll confirm this is what I did one more time. If I still get an error, I'll contact the company that sold me the unit. I guess it could always be a defective unit.

Personally.. If my car would not have the air balance package, i would just buy a travel scent diffuser and call it. works better and can control the amount of "scent".
