2017 E400 Wagon tail light replacement
New to the forum. Got a dashboard msg that right rear taillight and backup lights not working. Found that the inner (on liftgate) light assembly was missing the running light LEDs, and all of the backup light leds. Checked the left side and only 2 segment of the backup leds were working. On both outer assemblies, none of the white backup leds were working.
I could only find Youtube vids for the 2106 models related to removing the inner lift gate trim, and the 2017 model is different.
First question is how to remove the trim on the lift gate?
Second question - any ideas on why all of these assemblies are malfunctioning?

Mercedes E220d AMG Line Estate (S213) and Mercedes E220d AMG Line Cabriolet (A238)
Prize the cover off the pull down handle, remove the screws and then prize out the cover from the tailgate. No screws just clipped in around the outside.
