Air Balance and Ionizer shuts off randomly

Air Balance and Ionizer shuts off randomly
I have a 2108 E400 wagon with the Air Balance air freshener and ionization setting. I will turn both on and sometimes when I randomly go into the menu days or weeks later both will be off. Does anyone else encounter this or know why?

For me at least, the fragrance canister doesn't stay in place, so it gets knocked out when driving, and then the fragrance turns off (not sure about ionizer). Check your glovebox to see.

If climate control is moved from the "Auto" position it will turn off the the Air Balance and Air Balance will stay off even if you go back to the Auto position. So when I've gone off of the Auto position, either on purpose or by mistake, I go back to the Menu to turn Air Balance back on.

AAAAh the auto thing makes sense. I'll have to test that out.
I've never had an issue with the canister jumping out of its spot...maybe I'm not taking turns fast enough haha. I do have the manuals in their sleeve in there and makes it a pretty tight fit so maybe it helps keep the canister in place.
