Gauging interest (AMG wheels)

I just purchased my first mercedes, it's a 4dr 2019 E450 4matic. It came with 18" AMG wheels. I'm already in the process of going with aftermarket wheels. Is there any market for selling my stock wheels right now? Debating if I should just keep them or if its worth trying to sell them. They have brand new Goodyear runflats on them too if that matters.

Well there's always marketplace here and the usual places like Craigslist and Facebook marketplace along with eBay. Personally I hate shipping so you'd probably have more luck with Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Just remember not to price them too high. I always think of the scene below when people price things too high and replace Sparta with Craigslist.

Well whats too high? There's so many different versions of 5 spoke AMG wheels, im not really sure what they're worth. What's a good avg price range?

I assume that you are thinking of a larger wheel as a replacement.

Before you do, suggest you check the hundred of posts and many threads where going with larger wheels, while marginally improving handling, can lead to an unacceptable harsh ride.

As the wheel side increases, the sidewall of the tire decreases: not only is the new wheel subject to damage from pot holes, etc. vs. an 18" wheel, but the ride deteriorates.

I also have a 2019 E450 with the standard wheels and RF: I find the ride sublime. Most of us that have the 18" wheels find the ride wonderful.

Just my $.02.

Look up the part number on eBay. They're basically used rims even though they may be in good condition. The back of the rim should have the MB part number so just look up what they're going for and price accordingly. As mentioned earlier, the larger the rim, the more likely you will get cracked rims and flat tires due to the lack of sidewall. Aftermarket rims can be worse as with a cracked rim, you might be able to weld it back if it were oem but aftermarket can have pieces of the rim break off which can't be fixed and after a while, they no longer sell a particular aftermarket rim. You can usually find MB parts by searching for the particular part number and there's a Hollander cross reference number for OEM rims. As for the price, hard to say without knowing the MB part number. Sometimes there's replica and refurbished rims so you can't really charge more than that, typically only a percentage of that, just have to research it.

Didn't even think about looking up the part number and searching that way. Appreciate that tip

It is not what the wheels are going for on eBay: What is important is what they have sold for:

In the upper right of your eBay search there is Advance: click on it and it will take you to a new page. Scroll down and click on either "sold" or "completed:" you will then see what wheels have sold for and based on that you can determine what your wheels are worth. Keep in mind shipping cost the buyer must pay as well as taxes when you price your wheels.

I just replaced a rim. As a reference, a new 18" 5-spoke AMG rim for the E-450 was $1050 ish at the dealer.
