Which flash-driver should I use for MBUX dashcam?

I’ve been reading some articles. Some say 128gb more than enough, some 1tb. Don’t know who the hell should I listen to lol. All i know so far is I need SSD and sandisk is the best in terms of brand quality. Please help me out here. Thanks!! MB for the win.

More storage is usually better. A 128GB Sandisk Extreme mSDXC costs about $18, a 512GB $57 and 1TB costs about $110. First you need to decide what the video resolution will be and the frame rate (usually 30 fps or 60 fps). From that you can calculate the storage requirement for 1 minute of video. For example video at 1920 x 720 @30 fps uses about 740MB per minute. There are several calculators you can use once you know what the recording specs are. Recording specs vary based on camera settings.

you don't really need a big card if you only need footage of an incident (which you then pull from the card on the spot)
bigger card are mainly handy if you have a dashcam with parkmode
I have a thinkware U1000 and 128gb does the job (even with parkmode on)

I use mSD cards exclusively and adapters for USB and SD in the car. Sometimes they come free with the mSD purchase. Adapters are very cheap, if not free.

I use a USB 8GB jump drive. Works great. One thing you should do no matter what you use is to format as a exFAT. Reason is because exFatdrives are faster at writing and reading data. As you can see I get 2 min clips.

I'm using this...1TB SanDisk Extreme SSD. WalMart, $79 (and they walk it out to your car).

That's a bit bulky. Why not use a San Disk microSD in an adapter? It fits almost flush with the USB socket.

I

I hear you. It's 1TB running in loop mode and I tuck it into the inductive charging area since I almost never use it to charge my phone, so it doesn't appear so bulky.

1tb@ 1080p would probably record like 500hrs of driving time. Seems like overkill but to each their own. I'd recommend a high endurance micro SD card with around 128gb to 256gb which is already plenty of driving hours @ 1080p.

example but you'll also need a card reader:
