Here is some more oiled wood p0rn for your viewing pleasure… this was after I had it all cleaned up and for sale.

The coating really helps.

I have the same wood trim on my car- I use a soft cotton cloth and some furniture oil (only a tiny amount, just enough so it slightly darkens the wood and adds shine as you apply). I suppose you might also use furniture wax instead for a longer lasting coat.

I always take care to avoid touching the silver trim elements and go over it all with a clean section of the cloth to remove any excess.

By the next day it's usually all soaked in- and leaves a deep finish which is very nice. When it goes flat again, I know its time to reapply (every three to six months).

Picture attached showing how it looks after oiling…

Looks very nice, I also really like the interior spec you have on your car, that brown gives a nice contrast.

Someone mentioned ceramic coating the interior from a different thread, not sure if that makes sense however.

Mercedes does sell interior care products if I remember correctly, not sure if there are any for wood though probably not if your Mercedes rep never heard of it or perhaps as your parts department.

Per the suggestion of my salesman, I ceramic coated my Neva grey leather seats with a product from Chemical Guys. I am pleased to report the seats still look like new without any dye transfer from jeans

As for the wood being discussed, if cared for other than MB recommenced, a potential warranty claim could be voided. I will stick with a damp microfiber.

So they don't actually sell wood treatment/conditioning products in the parts department?

They should fix it for you at the dealership under warranty, no?

IIRC the MB warranty in the UAE is 24 months. It isn't as generous as the US warranty.

Hmmm didn't know that, thanks for the information. In that case is it common in the UAE on these cars, I wonder if they can gather some owners and file a class action lawsuit, if there is not already one?

Living here for 12 years, we've learnt sometimes it is cheaper and less stress just to suck it up.

Perhaps a bulk buy order would work out to be cheaper.

Hmmm, thankfully it is not mechanical and just cosmetic annoying yes but at least doesn't affect the functionality of the actual car. Sorry to hear about your pain though : (
