EASY ENTRY/EXIT

I have a 2017 E300, Sports Version. I have been having problems with the function of the Easy Entry/Exit. Even though it is activated in the Vehicle settings, it is not functioning as mentioned in the manual. My car was under warranty and every time I brought it in to the dealership for service they claimed there was nothing wrong. The last time I complained about it they apparently fixed the steering movement portion of it, but not the seat movement. Additionally they said that it doesn't apply to the passenger side. They claimed that is the way the car was built. Does anyone have the same year model, and does their car work the same way as mine?

.
Seat movement depends on how far back the driving position is set. If it is too far back, there will be no further movement. Try moving the seat forward, then see if the seat moves when the car is parked and the driver's door is opened.

I have tried moving the seat forward also, but that doesn't work either.

2018 E300 4Matic Sport
I have a 2018 E300 4Matic (Sport)...and I thought when you have this feature enabled...when you turn off the car...the steering wheel was supposed to move up and in (for easy exit). I did not know the seat was supposed to move back. On my car the wheel -- moves up -- but it does not move in! The seat is already very far back, but not to the maxium.

Why would it move back? If you enter the car comfortably when the seat is in a specific position...why would you have to move the seat that far forward in order to comfortable for driving? I've never had that with me. I get in the car comfortably and that's the position I drive in. Slight adjustments yes, but substantial? I don't see it. Thanks.

I checked the Operator Manual for my 2018 E300. It clearly states that the Easy Entry/Exit function is for the steering wheel only. I was confusing the E class seat functions with that of the S class.

Kind of thought so...thanks for the clarification.

So, on the wheel does it go up only -- or does it go up and retract in as well? Thanks.

2020 E450 4MATIC
Apparently it is different with each MY or class. MY 2020 E450 is supposed to have both the steering wheel and driver seat move out of the way, adjustable through the menu. My car has been hit and miss for the driver seat portion but I found out there is a TSB to have it fixed through software update, still trying to make time to take it to the dealer for the TSB update while under warranty. If you are out of warranty they may charge you for the fix. Also, on my car this function is for the driver side only, not the passenger side.
