W213 Service Manuals??

I am Stuts and just purchased a 2018 E400 4Matic wagon, my 2nd MBZ now. I purchased a "Factory Service Manual" on line in a flash drive configuration and it is useless. It just refers to procedures I guess spelled out in a proprietary MBZ site. There is no verbiage or photos that would help a BYI type pweson. Anyone know how or where to get a decent service manual for this car? The Haynes ones, if they are available are pretty useless also. I would like a good, detailed, solid, repair manual to maintain this car. Anyone ???

Do you have any links to that product or screen shots of the content? The proper WIS should cover tasks where trained mechanics need advice. I wonder if you actually got (an illegal) copy of WIS but did not find the info because of a user error. Was this service manual supposed to cover the W213 model only or all MB models?

I believe the real WIS stopped in 2019 or so but should still cover a 2018 model. They switched to ISPPI so you'd be missing updates but it's a lot cheaper than an ISPPI subscription to the repair manuals.

It did not stop at 2019. Your link shows a 2020 copy but even that is not the latest available off-line version.

What do you mean with a lot cheaper than ISPPI? The eBay items are illegal copies. Illegal copies should be free (and are).

Isn't that the whole nature of illegal? They're not free on eBay but if you look hard, I'm sure you can find them for free.

W213 Service manual

f Here is a screenshot of a typical page. There are probably 1000 pages covering several years and models. None of this is particularly useful. All I want is a good W213 factory manual- WIS.

Looks like someone turned the WIS into a PDF so it's not very useful. The real WIS you get starts off by putting in your vin number, then you can drill down to whatever subsystem you're looking for repair info on. It is basically as you showed though, bunch of pdfs with instructions and then there's also various diagrams. EPC also tells you the right part number for your car which is why the dealers always ask for your vin when ordering parts.

You should have more than 4000 documents for a W213, each document consisting of many pages.

This does look like a copy of the real workshop manual by content. Even as a pdf print it should work if it has all the documents. It just is clumsy to use as the top level document always has several steps for a bigger repair task and each step is covered by another document (can continue from there). On the right you can see a link to the document that covers one particular step. The question is if you can easily locate that document. Not impossible if each pdf document title contains the numerical document identity as it is on the link.

Someone has had a huge effort when printing all WIS documents. No need for any SW installation is an advantage but makes it difficult to use. Hopefully pdf documents are printed allowing text search.
