Best touch-up paint source.Graphite Gray Pearl, 831/7831

I have a pretty bad door ding in the drivers side rear wheel arch. Took it to a PDR guy who I trust, but find its in the part where two sheets overlap, and the creese is deep enough to not allow access. We even tried drilling a hole inside the door jam to get to it and no success.

Before going the body shop route, I thought I would try to see if simply filling the part where the paint is totally gone would make is tolerable. The paint is Graphite Gray Pearl, 831/7831 so dark, and it low enough in the arch, I am hoping just getting the white bare metal to go away will make it better.

I see lots of kits out there - Dr. Color Chip, Touch Up Direct, and the dealer. All have multi part kits that go from reasonable to really expensive.

Suggestions on which to try for a ding, not a chip? Hoping I can link of low level Bondo it with paint.

Thanks

I think your best bet is to go to the Mercedes parts counter and get the OEM touch-up paint only. It should be less than $20. Langka is good for smoothing out the "blob" of paint that you often end up with when you touch up a chip like the ones you get on the hood edge. But since you have an indentation, you probably don't have to worry about the "blob." Another trick to avoid getting too much touch-up paint on a chip is to use a tooth pick with a little bit of paint on the end. Good luck.

I purchased 2 OEM touch up paints from 2 separate dealerships and both didn’t match my car’s color

Try Dr. Color chip out of Florida. Have used their product in the past and highly recommend. They stock all MB colors.

OP mentioned that already but otherwise it is a good recommendation, there is also the Langka paint set as well that OP can try.
