Any tips on 2023 e450 oil change?

It’ll be my first oil change at 10,000km since I don’t like 20k bs by manual. I watched couple guys on youtube. In my understanding, replace filter then drain oil which is in plastic pan for this model. Takes 9 quarts. Is there some precaution or extra step i need to take? Thanks!

In the US it is 10K miles, not 10K km.

I watched my indy do my oil change. Just as you described.

Good Luck and glad there are still guys around doing their own work!

Changing the oil on a Mercedes is not too different compared to changing the oil on a Honda or Volkswagen. No tricks. Replace the single-use plastic drain plug and o-ring. Replace the o-ring on the filter housing.

One thing I've noticed consistently about Youtube videos is that they make things seem much easier than they really are. I recently tried to remove the front bumper on my Porsche 911 to replace the horns. I watched a lot of videos before I started. The videos were helpful in that they told about screws that I would never have known about. I removed all the fasteners and screws but I could not pull the bumper off. After several hours on a rainy Saturday, I finally gave up and put everything back together. Next week, I'm going to an independent shop who will do the job.

I have changed the oil and brake fluid on my Porsche using online instructions, and everything went well.

Good luck.
