Check Entire Surroundings!!!!!

My local MB dealer was 3 weeks out for an appointment, so took it the "next" closest MB dealer - 2 hours away.
Right off the bat, I didn't feel the love from their service advisor - quick, curt, slightly arrogant in demeanor - ok maybe bad day.
I had to follow-up for the issue - he told me that the entire front sensor wiring harness was corroded. Cost $1893.00, my certification had just expired.
60 days prior, so I asked it could be applied as this isn't a "normal" maintenance item and has not been detected prior. Got the attitude again, not the least bit helpful, told him I will pick the car up today, his reply was "what do mean, you aren't going to have US repair, WHY?" told him flat out I thought that his attitude the other day and today was condescending, and arrogant - and no you aren't going to repair the car. Cost $181.00 for diagnostic scan.
Got the part numbers and called my local dealer for price $347.50, really? online it's $242.00, said that what the computers says and the cost of living here is higher. I bought the part online from Helms Mercedes in NYC - cost of living my a--! Had the local independent do the work for $541.00. was it corroded, YES Very,
anyone else experienced this? Car is a: 2017 E400 wagon.
also found a TBS on the subject - see below.

You have located a specialized indy that makes great things happen - Ask him to:
WEATHERIZE ALL HARNESS CONNECTORS IN F/R BUMPERS.
- Headlights modules
- Temp sensor
- Radar modules
- misc prox sensors
Unfortunately connectors can actively leak water into pricey radar modules - Spend a little now, save big later.
Happy holiday season '23.

I failed to mention that my Indy took great pains to explain to me how he coated all the connectors to keep this from happening again.
He doesn't want to do this job again. his words not mine.
I appreciate the heads up, thanks.
