Question 2022 and 2023 E450

Am considering purchasing a certified pre-owned 2022 or 2023 E450. I have been doing a lot of research and, quite frankly, I am really concerned about the issue regarding the 48 volt battery problems. I seem to recall someone (not sure if on this listserve or not) said that the issue has been resolved and any car with a production date on or after September, 2022. This would mean that some of the late production cars of the 2022 model and, of course, all of the 2023 model year cars are good to go. But, I don't remember where I read that and I have made all of this up. I have asked the dealer this same question and all I get is crickets. This morning, I emailed MBUSA and asked this same question and am waiting for an answer. Is there anyone on this listserve that can answer my question. Would be much appreciated.

Mikey53, ty so much for responding. I suppose that the E450 sedan would have the same mild hybrid system as the coupe. I have another question for you. Would you my any chance know the date your car was produced? I believe that you can find that information in the inner part of the driver's door. I think....that would be very helpful...again, ty so much

The only 48V problems were in the Covid-era produced early 2021 model year vehicles. Those were resolved by the end of the 2021 model year. So the 2022 and the 2023 model years, and the late 2021 model year vehicles should be completely trouble-free from this perspective.

As an aside, my 2022 E450 All-Terrain Wagon is absolutely sublime……no problems of any kind whatsoever, in over a year of ownership and nearly 12000 miles.

I have a 2021 E350. No battery problem, except it never charges full enough to allow the ECO (engine turn off at stop) to happen.
