2017 carplay could not be started or connected

2017 carplay could not be started or connected
Ive tried everything - new cords, using the right usb, resetting iphone, resetting network settings, resetting radio to factory settings, going to dealer for new software update.
My phone connects in my wifes car no problem so it cant be the phone. Cant be the cord bc it works in her car. My friends android boots right up to android auto but for some reason carplay never works. Any help would be awesome!!!

Hi,
Just to confirm, I know you reset to factory defaults, but have you rebooted the system? I have a later model (2020) and I had a similar issue and I found a way to reboot in the manual and that is what resolved the issue.
