E350 Tire Pressure - Discrepancy

A new 2023 E350 with 245/40 R19 (Extra Load) Goodyear Tires. Sticker on driver's door indicates: F-39/R-46 psi. Sticker on Fuel Filler Cover indicates: F-33/R-34. Which is correct?

If you plan to load up the car with people and cargo or if you plan to go over a 100 mph, then the door jam numbers are correct. For everyday driving, go with the fuel door recommendation. Personally, I just keep all 4 tires at 35 psi.

I would not use the door jam numbers:

My fuel cap has two recommendations: Normal load and maximum load.

I use the fuel cap numbers.

.
Read the label and do the numbers. The pressures differentiate between front, rear, normal load, full load, normal speed and high speed. Mix and match. The door jamb numbers are the same as on the filler door, but expressed differently.

Maybe on your car they are the same, but not on mine.

I will continue to use the numbers on the fuel cap and suggest that is correct.

This site might be helpful. Compare the tire size to tire pressure and the load rating at that pressure. Compare to the Mercedes recommendations, and happy motoring.

IF you do the math they end up being the same numbers expressed differently.
Door is probably for max load while fuel door is for light load
Door probably says subtract X psi for normal load.
Fuel sticker says ADD X psi for max load.

confusing - YES
Very German

law requires door jamb sticker to note what STOCK tire size and pressures

Normal pressure is the psi on the fuel door’s lower psi range, if car is full of cargo/people or driving high speed, the proper psi is on the door jam as well as max range on fuel cap. Max tire pressure of the tire itself is on the tire’s sidewall.

Happy 4th of July everyone and please drive safely.
